I appreciate the additional explanations and theory. No matter where you are on the learning spectrum, there is something to review, something new, or a brand new challenge.The relaxed manner of presentation is great, but doesn't minimize the content of the class. I find Ben's approach to be kind of a "come as you are" session. Understanding better can lead to using the practices in PS more fluently AND to greater freedom to be creative. Ben tells you not only WHAT to do, but WHY (-or why not) and HOW. While I've had some "novice" experience with PS, this course is moving me along in a totally different way. I purchased this course -SMART MOVE!-because, at 74, I learn more slowly and need more practice. Camera Raw has the same interface in Lightroom as it does in Photoshop. I'm also running the entire Nik Collection suite right in Lightroom Classic (I downloaded from Google a while back for free). The cloud based version of Lightroom (Lightroom CC) comes with your monthly subscription as well. If you want it to, you can have it automatically upload the photos you take with the app to your home computer's version of Lightroom Classic as well. It is the overall best camera app I have for my iPhone->shoots raw, hdr and manual. You also get the Lightroom CC mobile camera app for your smart phone. The good thing about the subscription model is you get the latest updates for these applications as they become available. Lightroom Classic and Photoshop CC bundled together are available by subscription from Adobe for $10 per month. The version I'm using is now called Lightroom Classic. Adobe has succeeded in confusing everyone->by now calling the cloud based version, Lightroom CC. It is not cloud based and is the latest version of Lightroom that most of us have been using for years. Mike, you should check out Lightroom Classic.

My old analog cappuccino maker died last week, I suffered enough psychic trauma familiarizing myself with the shiny new upgrade this weekend. I open it every 2 months or so, and then quickly close it as my heart starts racing at the very thought of actually trying to learn it. I downloaded (free) Darktable upon your last musings on photo editing software.

I will just need to download files on an as-needed basis. I should be able to access it as long as Adobe offers the free CC membership. I guess I can still set up an image repository in CC to save space on my hard drive.
